Retreat Activity Descriptions

Certification in Equine Reiki Level 1

Let Animals Lead Method™ (10-hour certification course) by Kathleen Prasad is a specialized approach to Reiki that emphasizes the natural healing instincts of animals, particularly horses. This method focuses on creating a respectful and non-invasive space where horses can guide the healing process. Practitioners learn to offer Reiki energy in a way that honors the horse’s autonomy, allowing the animal to choose how and when to engage with the energy. This approach fosters a deep connection and mutual trust, enhancing the healing experience for both the horse and the practitioner.

Meditation With Horses

Meditation with horses involves practicing mindfulness in the presence of these sensitive and intuitive animals, creating a unique and grounding experience. Horses, known for their gentle and responsive nature, can mirror human emotions and energy, helping individuals become more aware of their inner state. This practice encourages a deep sense of presence, calmness, and connection with the animal and oneself. The non-judgmental presence of horses can also promote emotional healing and personal growth, making meditation with horses a powerful and enriching experience.

Equine Study Lesson w/Special Guest Speaker Nicole Stone

An equine study session involves a focused period of learning and interaction with horses, aimed at deepening one’s understanding of equine behavior, care, and communication. Participants may engage in activities such as observing horse behavior, or practicing grooming techniques.  The session often includes hands-on experience, allowing participants to connect with the horses and apply their knowledge practically. This immersive learning environment fosters a deeper appreciation for the physical, emotional, and social needs of horses, enhancing the skills and confidence of those involved in equine care and training.

Sunset Trail Ride

A 90-minute meditation trail ride offers a profound experience of connecting with a horse while exploring nature. As you begin the ride, you focus on your breath and the gentle rhythm of the horse’s movements, creating a meditative state. The horse’s calm energy and keen awareness of the environment help you tune into the present moment, heightening your senses to the sights, sounds, and scents around you.

Throughout the trail, you may experience moments of deep connection with your horse, feeling its strength and grace beneath you. The quietude of nature amplifies this bond, allowing for a shared sense of peace and unity. The ride becomes a moving meditation, where the steady pace of the horse and the serene surroundings guide you into a state of mindfulness and tranquility.

By the end of the ride, you feel a deep sense of gratitude and harmony, not only with the horse but also with the natural world. This experience leaves you with a lasting sense of inner calm, clarity, and a renewed appreciation for the connection between humans and animals.

Gentle Flow Yoga

Discover the soothing benefits of Gentle Flow Yoga, a calming and restorative practice designed to ease you into the flow of movement and breath. Perfect for all levels, this class focuses on slow, mindful transitions between poses, promoting flexibility, balance, and relaxation.

Restorative Gentle Yin Yoga

Meditation during Yin Yoga is particularly healing because it combines deep, slow stretching with mindful awareness, creating a calming and restorative experience. Yin Yoga focuses on holding poses in a seated or lying down position for extended periods, which allows the body to gently open and release tension in the connective tissues. The meditative aspect during the extended periods encourages a focus on the breath and present moment, helping to quiet the mind and reduce stress. This combination promotes relaxation, enhances body awareness, and fosters a deep sense of inner peace and well-being. This yoga practice is perfect if you have little to no experience with yoga, while also acting as a reset for the regular practicing yogi.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is powerful because it uses specific frequencies and vibrations to harmonize the body and mind, promoting a deep state of relaxation and well-being. Sound waves can influence brainwave activity, encouraging a shift from active states to more meditative and restorative ones. This process can reduce stress, alleviate pain, and enhance emotional balance. The resonant sounds help release blockages and restore the natural flow of energy within the body, fostering overall physical, mental, and emotional healing.

Rest & Relaxation Time

Enjoying backyard pool time offers a refreshing escape, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. A walk on the ranch allows for a tranquil connection with nature, providing a peaceful backdrop of open fields and scenic views. Quiet time for reading, journaling, meditation, and reflection in the wellness center or fireside in the ranch house creates a serene environment to unwind, explore personal thoughts, and cultivate inner peace. This blend of activities promotes overall well-being, offering both physical relaxation and mental clarity.

Additional Optional Activities (during Free Time)

Grab your binoculars and bird book for an exciting bird-watching adventure. Learn to arrange flowers into beautiful wands or crowns, embark on a guided hike through the woods, or enjoy a game of horseshoes and other fun activities we have available.

Guests gather amidst the scenic backdrop of rolling pastures and majestic horses, enjoying a meal prepared on the grill.
